Happy nineteenth, bro!
1) Buy a box of Devils Food Cake mix. Follow directions on box and bake 1/3 of it separately. You will have to guess the cooking time, but it should be similar to the box.2) After cakes are cooled, break apart the smaller cake until you have small cake crumbs. Set aside.
3) Create ganache (recipe below). Let cool for 30-60 min and incorporate the cake crumbs.
4) Pour ganache-crumb mix ontop of the larger cake (preferably in a cake pan as shown above) and voila!
Martha Stewart's Dark Chocolate Ganache:
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped

In a large saucepan, bring 2 cups heavy cream, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon salt to a boil. Remove from heat; add 1 pound bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped, and let stand, without stirring, for 1 minute. Whisk just until combined. Refrigerate, stirring occasionally, until spreadable, about 1 hour.
